Art - What do you see?

girl, face paint, paint, skull, white and black
Art can be found in the most odd places. It can be anything. This girls paint face of a skull, it is beautiful to me but perhaps not to many others. Beauty is rare and each person (s) will find beauty in many different things.
art, colors, landscapes, love, manWhat we see is always going to be something different from another person, which is a good thing. After all life would be very boring if everyone liked the same things. I mean, if you think about it you cannot have everything thing in common with another person. You want something's to be very different because it is the differences that make your relationship different and exciting. You keep the other person on their toes and learn so many new things.
art, eiffel tower, figurine, paintings, parisArt can be colourful, dark, moody, hopeful, sexy, simple or crazy. It can be done by professionally or not. It could be thought out or perhaps a hot mess. It could be a painting, a drawing, a tattoo, a photograph or many other things. Art is what you believe in your mind that makes it art.
crying, eye, girl, sad, sadnessYou may have it at work, your home, car or on your cell phone. It is everywhere you look and it will always be around forever.
Art makes you feel something. Maybe you feel sadness, angry or happiness while you may feel one way another person will feel something different.

Enjoy the art you see all around.

    America Horse With No Name

    Songwriters: BUNNELL, DEWEY
    A Horse With No Name

On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds. and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz,
And the sky, with no clouds.
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry,
But the air was full of sound.

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After two days, in the desert sun,
My skin began to turn red.
After three days, in the desert fun,
I was looking at a river bed.
And the story it told, of a river that flowed,
Made me sad to think it was dead.

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After nine days, I let the horse run free,
'Cause the desert had turned to sea.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The ocean is a desert, with it's life underground,
    And a perfect disguise above.
Under the cities lies, a heart made of ground,
But the humans will give no love.

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.

Thrown like a star in my vast sleep
I opened my eyes to take a peek
To find that I was by the sea
    Gazing with tranquility

'Twas then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Came singing songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Came singing songs of love

"Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang
"Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang
"Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy" he sang

Hung in light and shadows cast
    Down through all eternity
    The crying of humanity

'Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Comes singing songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Comes singing songs of love

    All I Want Is You - U2

    You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
    You say you want
    Your story to remain untold

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    You say you'll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

    You say you'll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
    A harbour in the tempest
But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    You say you want
Your love to work out right
To last with me through the night

    You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
    Your story to remain untold
Your love not to grow cold

    All the promises we break
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

    Surprising Foods...

    That Make You Gain...

Beware of sneaky calories in seemingly healthy foods

Avoiding chips and soda is a given for anyone looking to maintain a healthy weight. However, some of our go-to diet foods pack more calories than we expect. (Search: smart diet foods) Registered dietitians Sarah Krieger and Marisa Moore have flagged eight foods to avoid.

    1. Stock Photo: -Cereal It’s not just the boxes with cartoons on them that are filled with heaps of added sugar. Avoid cereal with dried fruit, nuts, and honey clusters, as these ingredients add sugar and fat content, says Krieger. (Video: 20 Foods That Pack a Secret Sugar High) Also be aware of portion sizes, the type of milk you choose, and other toppings, like sugar or honey. “Anything that has 200 calories for 1/2 cup or 3/4 cup could easily become a 500-calorie bowl of cereal,” says Krieger. Try shredded wheat with nonfat milk as a low-cal morning meal and use a measuring cup when filling up your cereal bowl to avoid overeating, she suggests.
    2. Stock Photo: heap of trail mixTrail MixTwo handfuls of this snack can easily pack 300 calories--and that’s before add-ins, like chocolate or coconut flakes. For example, Planters Mixed Nuts & Raisins Trail Mix contains 160 calories and 12 g of fat for about a quarter-cup. Keep portions in check by remembering that one serving of nuts should fit in the palm of your hand.
    3. Stock Photo: Close-up of bowl of cereal and berriesGranolaThis crunchy treat can come loaded with 200 to 600 calories per cup, and tends to have as much added sugar as a plate of chocolate chip cookies. “Adding granola to your yogurt can be an overload,” says Moore. Try topping it with fruit or a sprinkling of high-fibre, low-calorie cereal instead.
    4. Stock Photo: close-up of a bowl of saladSalads“It’s not uncommon to have a salad over 1,000 calories,” says Moore. Whether you are ordering a mix of greens at a restaurant or making one at home, the calories and fat in toppings such as cheese, croutons, and creaming dressings can really add up. We rarely measure out our toppings, especially dressing. Using creamy dressings is even worse, packing 9 grams of fat onto the salad per serving size-which is only 2 tablespoons. A simple suggestion: keep the dressing on the side, read all the ingredients, and keep your non-veggie toppings to a minimum.
    5. Stock Photo: Mango with section on a white backgroundMangoTropical, sweet, and perfect for summer, mangos are a great source of vitamins A and C. However, one cup of sliced fresh mango is 107 calories. Bananas and plums are also higher-calorie fruits. If you’re watching your weight, pick watermelon (46 calories per cup), cantaloupe (60 calories per cup) or other fruits and veggies that contain high percentages of water.
    6. Stock Photo: CornStarchy VeggiesPotatoes, corn, and other starchy vegetables can add a lot of calories and few nutrients to your plate. Most green veggies contain about 25 calories per half-cup compared to 90 calories for the same amount of starchy vegetables, says Moore. Stick to sides like spinach and broccoli for a lower-calorie serving of veggies with more of the good stuff, like calcium, potassium, and loads of vitamins.
    7. Stock Photo: Cereals BarsEnergy BarsThe 200 to 300 calories in your favourite energy bar won’t give you anything but extra calories to burn off during your workout, says Moore. The snacks aren’t only high in calories, they are also high in added sugars. Before a workout try eating fruit instead. The natural sugar will fuel your sweat session and the water content can keep you hydrated.
    8. Stock Photo: Frozen YogurtFrozen YogurtFro-yo sounds like a healthy ice cream alternative, but it can be very high in calories and sugar, especially if it’s Greek-style frozen yogurt, says Moore. For example, a half-cup of Ben & Jerry’s Banana Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt contains 210 calories and 26 g of sugar—that’s more of the sweet stuff than the brand’s chocolate ice cream.
    9. Smoothies“If you get smoothies out somewhere, they can be very high in calories, up to 400 or 500,” says Moore. It’s better to make blended drinks at home where you can skip sugary syrups or fruit juice. To add vitamins and lower the calories and sugar in your smoothie, toss veggies into the blender, too.

    17 Great Dune Puppies

This Great Dane has her work cut out after she gave birth to 17 puppies.
Gazing adoringly at the camera, four-year-old Hania feeds her puppies around the clock to ensure they don't go hungry.

The tiny pups, pictured at only three-days old, have to scramble and fight one another off to make sure they get their fair share of milk.

And to make sure none of them are left without food their breeder, Gabriela Kubalska, helps to nurse the litter and has drafted in the help of another female Great Dane.

Their exhausted mother and the brood take up the entire ground floor of their owner's house which is located in Warsaw, Poland.
The whimpering pedigree pups, eight male and nine female, were born by Cesarean section at a veterinary clinic near their home.

Ms Kubalska decided to spare her prized pedigree dog the pain of a long labour - especially since this is her first litter.
A Rhodesian Ridgeback in Germany also hit the headlines last September when she also gave birth to 17 puppies.

5 facts - Lincoln Vampire Hunter

On Friday, June 22nd, Benjamin Walker will do what some thought couldn’t be done by making Abraham Lincoln sexy in Timur Bekmambetov’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”. In preparation for the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s book about the un-dead, we thought we’d dig up five fun facts about the actor about to take the summer by storm.

    1) Abraham Lincoln isn’t the first American President he’s portrayed. Walker made his name as the lead in the rock musical “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” playing, you guessed it, seventh President Andrew Jackson.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' star Benjamin Walker2) He’s a Juilliard graduate who has at times made a living as a stand-up comedian and he created “Find the Funny” an event “dedicated to providing performance opportunities to new and innovative comics, writers, musicians, and performers”.
    3) He married into Hollywood royalty. In 2011, Walker married actress Mamie Gummer, AKA Meryl Streep’s oldest daughter.
    4) He was almost one of the X-Men. Originally slated to play Hank McCoy/Beast in “X-Men: First Class” he turned it down to go to Broadway for “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson”.
    5) He’s six feet, three inches tall, which puts him one inch shorter than Lincoln and two inches taller than Andrew Jackson.

    Your Feelings Matter

I sometimes find it challenging to honor my own feelings -- especially if what I want or feel seems to be at odds with other people, or my emotions don't seem to be "appropriate" to the situation. While I'm not someone who tends to hold back sharing my honest opinions, desires, and feelings and, over the years, I've gotten quite a bit of feedback from people close to me about talking too much, dominating situations or conversations, and being selfish -- underneath all of this is a deep fear that my feelings and desires aren't as important as other people's.
It has been humbling to come to this realization about myself recently. However, it has also been incredibly liberating to see this pattern and to ask myself the question, "What would it be like to honor my real feelings and to live my life knowing that what I want and feel is just as important as anyone else?"
Honoring our feelings isn't about being self-absorbed, arrogant, or better than anyone -- it's really about being true to ourselves, honest with how we feel and what we want, and willing to engage in authentic conversations with other people -- even, and especially, when we don't feel or want the same things that they do.
So why can it be so challenging for us to honor our own feelings? Some of the primary reasons for this are:
    • We worry that people won't like or approve of us

    • We don't value ourselves in an authentic way (i.e., we think we're not good enough)

    • We've been taught to put other people's needs, desires, and feelings ahead of our own

    • We're not comfortable feeling and expressing certain emotions

    • We don't think we "deserve" to have what we want (i.e., we think we're not important enough)

    • We haven't been taught healthy ways to honor our feelings

    • We worry that we'll be seen as selfish

These and other things get in the way of truly honoring what we feel and what we want in life. Sadly, by not honoring our feelings we both discount ourselves in a painful, and ultimately damaging way, and we create separation between us and other people, often the most important people in our lives.
Here are a few things you can do to enhance your capacity to honor your own feelings:
    1. Be Real About How You Truly Feel -- The first step of any process is always about being real, first and foremost with ourselves. Even if we feel unclear or uncomfortable with a specific situation or certain set of emotions or desires, the more willing we are to be real about what we truly feel and want, the more ability we'll have to honor ourselves and be authentic with others. Making it a practice of getting in touch with our true feelings is essential. A great way to do this is through journaling. It's not about justifying how we feel to anyone else, it's about being honest with ourselves.

    2. Stop Judging Yourself -- One of the biggest things that can get in our way in life, in general and specifically when it comes to feeling our feelings and expressing our desires, is self-judgment. We think to ourselves, "I shouldn't feel this way," or "If I share this, they will think I'm a terrible person." We use these self-critical thoughts to suppress our true feelings, which can have significantly negative consequences on us and others. What if we just allowed ourselves to be real and to honor what's true for us in the moment, without judging it?

    3. Give Yourself Permission to Feel -- Because of our self-judgment, we sometimes don't give ourselves permission to feel... especially certain emotions. As human beings we tend to have a hierarchy of emotions -- liking the "good" ones (love, joy, gratitude, peace, etc.) and not liking the "bad" ones (anger, fear, hurt, powerlessness, etc.). However, at the deepest level, all human emotions have value and can benefit us if we're willing to feel them in an authentic and healthy way. Giving ourselves permission to feel what we're feeling is critical to our ability to honor and move through our emotions in a way that serves us, our relationships, and our life.

    4. Let Go of Your "Story" -- Many of us, myself included, are attached to our "story." We love all of the drama and all of the details that make up the relationships, situations, and circumstances in our lives (both past and present). While our life story, as well as the details of specific relationships and circumstances in our lives, is important at some level, too often we get caught in the story and all the drama, which actually takes us out of our emotional experience. Where we have real power is in feeling our feelings, not talking about them, rationalizing them, or explaining them -- but in simply feeling them. Human emotions are not sustainable -- especially if they are authentically felt. It only takes about a minute or two to genuinely feel and move through an emotion. However, when we attach an emotion to a story, we don't allow ourselves to truly feel it and thus can keep it stuck in place.

    5. Get Emotional Support -- As important as our emotions are to our lives, our wellbeing, and our relationships, sadly we don't get a lot of emotional training in life (through school, at work, and in general), and we don't often have built-in, healthy emotional support mechanisms in our daily lives. We live in a world that is primarily focused on action, results, and appearances -- none of which has anything to do with our emotional experience (even though our emotional experience is not only one of the most important aspects of our lives, but is what drives much of what we do and produce in life). There are, however, many ways we can find or enhance our emotional support. Most of us have certain emotional support structures in our lives that we've set up for ourselves, consciously or unconsciously. The key is for us to utilize these in a consistent and authentic way, as well as to make sure they are empowering us to honor ourselves and our emotional experiences in life.

    • 6 cups organic vegetable stock
    • 1/3 cup tomato paste

    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 teaspoon saffron
    LOBSTER MEAT:
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    Directions
1 bunch fresh chives, for garnish

For the lobster broth: Heat a large soup pot on medium and add the butter, olive oil, garlic, carrots, celery and onions. Add the sea salt and some freshly cracked pepper and saute for about 8 minutes. Deglaze the pan with the brandy and burn off the alcohol. Pour in the white wine and reduce for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the vegetable stock, tomato paste, peppercorns, lobster carcasses (keep meat for later), bay leaves, parsley and thyme. Top of with water, just enough to cover the shells. Turn the heat down to medium-low and simmer, partially covered, for 1 hour.

For the dark roux: Heat a small saucepan on medium. Add the butter and flour and whisk continuously until amber in color and nutty smelling, 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat.

For the bisque: Using strainer and cheesecloth, strain the lobster broth into a medium pot. Add the dark roux, heavy cream and saffron and mix. Let reduce on medium-low heat until thick, another 15 to 20 minutes.

For the lobster meat: Heat a big pan on medium-high and melt the butter. Add the lobster meat and saute until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes.

Spoon the lobster meat into a big bowl, ladle on the lobster bisque and top with chives. Enjoy.

I guess it should not surprise me that People like John-Agent driven by money would do the things he did tome during this process. It is just so unbelievable and yet very believable. I have been dealing with him for seven years and I have done all the work in this house hunt, while he gets the credit for it and now I am so bloody done!

These past few days of threats have been insane and it has weighed a lot on me. I have been so sick over it and now lawyers are involved. I am not kept in the loop and it is so upsetting.

This is just about them getting screwed over. I am the one living here and have been placed in this fight between him and them. I do not know how much more I can take.

His Letter to Her - Hopelessly

You and I have one of those relationships that just comes easily. From the first time I meet you there was a unique connection, that the only words I could used to describe it is it was meant to be.

As we spent the last little while travelling all over the world together I have gotten to know you so much better. I realize that I am completely in love with everything about you. I love the way you smile, I love the way you grab my hand and hold it. I love how good of a person you are. I love how passionate you are about helping others. I love that you want a cute little family with me. I love how you chase your dreams and how you want to make the world a better place. I love how funny you are and how funny we are together. I love how you fit in my arms. I love the thought of going to sleep next to you and waking up to those beautiful eyes every morning.

I am so excited to start a life with you. I will cheer you up when you are so sad and laugh with you when you are feeling good. I will be there for you and show you how to fall in love and have a love story that will last forever because I will love you forever. Most of all I am completely and hopelessly in love with you.

We visited my mother in law and through I do not know everything that she is saying to me, I do know that she cannot believe that she was put away in a hospital and will not be able to return home. She says she has been forgotten and just thrown away.

It was today that I truly realized that that is where I will be someday soon and I will be forgotten as well. Everyday, alone and old without children, grandchildren or a husband.

This is not a life and yet it is the life that I am dying in everyday. Tears at night until I fall asleep. Heart barely beating and many screams only heard in my mind. Hidden behind silence and walls. Drowning in pain - there is never a moment of true peace.

    Why do I stay?

Often I am asked why do I stay? I, for the most part cannot even answer the questions because I do not know. Is it love that keeps me here? No. Not love-Not true, in love. There is a history and once I believed that we may have loved each other but not real true, falling so deep in love, that nothing else matters.

I had lost so much and the abuse had worsen, before he came in and tired to fix - NO - SAVE ME. All kinds of promises were broken and some lies hidden so deep, that by the time I knew the truth about who he was it was to late. I was locked up, again and a different abuse began.

I was taught that when you marry it is for better or for worse. No one tells you that it really should be said for worse and for hell. I was blinded by the empty future that was going to fill my life with goodness and that the days of being in pain would finally end. It was like signing a contract with my own blood to the devil himself.

If only I had known that the women in this family really and truly do not matter and have no purpose in life but to cook, clean and obey. When you age you are forgotten, used up and neglected.

The one and only day off is filled with angry words, many useless fights, beaten down and it is just time to learn that the life has passed by so fast and everything around is a lie. Your life is a lie and you slowly learn that you are alone - really alone.

After some time you try to build something with friends or maybe some family but that is only one part of your life that needs some happiness. There is also self-fulfilment that you need with that one special person. They provide that comfort when you are alone and lost. They show that love with touch and words of kindness. They care and support you through sickness and health, for better, for worse and show passion - compassion.

I had that twice in my life and I have lost both. Now, I am ...

nothing, to no one - life partner.

This may not answer the question but to start again after so much damage has been done to me. It would not be fair to the new person who comes into my life. Or perhaps, I believe now that I was never deserving of a good life, healthy life with one true love and a family of my own.

I guess the answer is - I give up.

    (afterglow)

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
     It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
     It's you who is closest

    Pretty Vegas

Fallin' asleep at the wheel again baby,
    You're driftin' over the line.
You're hands are tied, but you're losin' grip quickly
Fix me, can you read the sign!

Thumbin' your way to Vegas, dirty
    Dreamin' of the other side!
Save your tears and laughter because
It doesn't matter what you find

    It ain't pretty
    After the show
It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you
    With no place to go.

So, if you think you need it,
Here's the place to feed it
     It ain't pretty.

When, everything that you do is wrong,
    And you
Feel like you can barely survive
     When those around you
    Are crumblin' downwards
Buried in the sunset of life.

Thumbin' your way to Vegas, dirty
And screamin' like a ***** from hell,

    Save your dreams
    Up your patience
    Doesn't matter what you sell

    It ain't pretty
    After the show
It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you
    With no place to go!

So, if you think you want it!
Here's the place to get it,
    It ain't pretty

    Yeah, yeah, yeah

    It ain't pretty

    Yeah, yeah, yeah

Thumbin' your way to Vegas, dirty
Dreamin' like you're out of control,
    Save your tears and laughter
    Because this is the ride
     And this is the show

    It ain't pretty
    After the show!
It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you
    With no place to go

So, if you think you want it
Just come in and get it

    It ain't pretty

    DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

    WELL I WAS BORN OLDER
WALKED ON WATER SO I WOULDN'T DROWN
     I BUILT A FORTRESS
TO SURVIVE ALL YOUR BREATHTAKING STORMS
THROUGH THE WALLS I HEARD LOVER'S DESIRES
THROUGH YOUR EYES IT WAS SEX I COULD SMELL

AS YOU GAZED AT THE OTHERS
     MY ANGER GREW DEEPER
     BLINDLY INTOXICATING MY RESTLESS HEART

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN BURY THE TRUTH WHEN YOU DIE
COVER THE SHAME WITH YOUR LIE AFTER LIE
HIDE ALL THE PAIN SO NOBODY SEES IT
I'M STILL HERE TO BLEED IT
     YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

    NOW I'M LIGHTING CANDLES
PRAY THE ANSWERS WILL DANCE IN THE FLAME
     BUT THE WATERS KEEP RISING
FLOODS THE FIRE THAT BURNS IN THE RAIN
DID YOU THINK I DON'T HURT WHEN YOU KICK ME?
WHY'D YOU LAUGH WHEN I STOOD ON THE EDGE?

AND HOW YOU BEGGED ME TO JUMP
     GOD I ALMOST DID IT
WON'T LET YOU DESTROY WHAT'S LEFT OF MY TORTURED HEART

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN BURY THE TRUTH WHEN YOU DIE
COVER THE SHAME WITH YOUR LIE AFTER LIE
HIDE ALL THE PAIN SO NOBODY SEES IT
I'M STILL HERE TO BLEED IT
     YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
     YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
     YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN BURY THE TRUTH WHEN YOU DIE
COVER THE SHAME WITH YOUR LIE AFTER LIE

HIDE ALL THE PAIN SO NOBODY SEES IT
BUT I'M STILL HERE TO BLEED
DO YOU THINK YOU CAN BURY THE TRUTH
DO YOU THINK YOU CAN COVER YOUR LIES
HIDE ALL THE PAIN SO NOBODY SEES IT
     BUT DON'T LEAVE ME HERE
     DON'T LEAVE ME HERE
DON'T LEAVE ME HERE TO BLEED
    YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

    I WON'T FORGET
     NO I WON'T FORGET

    Peanut & Apple

Had a nice visit with Peanut and apple. Apple talks so much. I get a lot of love from them. Peanut plays soccer going to see a game next week. I cannot wait. They are growing so fast and I miss being with them on a daily base.

School is out and summer is in so they are having a great time.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

    by ralph waldo emerson

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Waldo_Emerson

Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25, 1803 – April 27, 1882) was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet, who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society, and he disseminated his thoughts through dozens of published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States.

Emerson gradually moved away from the religious and social beliefs of his contemporaries, formulating and expressing the philosophy of Transcendentalism in his 1836 essay, Nature. Following this ground-breaking work, he gave a speech entitled The American Scholar in 1837, which Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. considered to be America's "Intellectual Declaration of Independence".[1]

Emerson wrote most of his important essays as lectures first, then revised them for print. His first two collections of essays – Essays: First Series and Essays: Second Series, published respectively in 1841 and 1844 – represent the core of his thinking, and include such well-known essays as Self-Reliance, The Over-Soul, Circles, The Poet and Experience. Together with Nature, these essays made the decade from the mid-1830s to the mid-1840s Emerson's most fertile period.

Emerson wrote on a number of subjects, never espousing fixed philosophical tenets, but developing certain ideas such as individuality, freedom, the ability for humankind to realize almost anything, and the relationship between the soul and the surrounding world. Emerson's "nature" was more philosophical than naturalistic; "Philosophically considered, the universe is composed of Nature and the Soul."

    My wish

    Great visit...

.....with my Mother - in -law on Monday. I had a movie for her to watch with her son. They both enjoyed the movie and the visit. It was very special for the two of them. I enjoyed seeing her happy.

I see her about three times a week to watch movies but her sons only see her once a week. Her husband visits everyday and missing her deeply. It has been very hard for them both and very sad. He just cannot car for her at home so it has not been easy for them to adjust.

    Miss Molly - Happy Birthday!

I cannot believe how much time has passed since you were born July 4th. 21 years and it seems like yesterday when they put me in my arms. You were so small and I had no idea if I could handle you.

My heart was broken but you helped to heal it and my love for you flourished each passing day.

We have had hard times and many good times together. I am missing and I wish for more good times together, soon.

I hope your special day is filled with happiness, good health and lots of love. Of course lots of yummy tasty treats.

    Happy Birthday, sister.

    I love you, Milky.
