Old Boss

I just found out that my old boss was asking about me and apparently more questions this time around which is very weird. I wonder what is going on in that woman's head. It would be something if she could admit that she was wrong.

But I think it may have to do with the baby show coming up in November. Maybe she needs extra help. Who knows? I guess time will tell.

New Start - House Hunting

A new agent - a new hunt begins. Found a few house to view and some good ones to see. I am crossing my fingers and toes and I hope that this time around will be kinder. Found one house that is so charming and well suited. So, it will be amazing if that is the one. Please be the one.

This whole thing is nerve racking and I am not sleeping, again because I am so bloody nervous. I wish I could control this.

Fractures

I went to the hospital to have an x-ray on my pelvis and hip. I have hair line fractures due to Phoenix killing me because he was jealous and being a huge suck.

Ikea

The new Ikea book is out and taking a trip to Ikea is never a good outcome. You walk in to get one item but you walk out having much much more. This year they some very nice green dishes and extra kitchen stuff that I would like to have for the new place.

I hate walking through that place. I prefer to go to the market area. The as is area has always been my lucky area. Great prices for more items. IE; my kitchen, living room and family room furniture. I paid less then half price.

The best time to go is at the end of each season. They do their floor changes and mark down the floor models. Just a tip for you!

Baking Gadgets

I was given a huge set of baking tools and I cannot believe how many things are out there to use. I have work with many of the items before but these new ones are insane. It was a very nice gift.

I have a wedding to do this September and I am nervous over it. As always, I guess. I will keep you posted.

Hotel Hell

Good lord how many shows is this guy going to have? It is crazy but I watched this new one and it is a lot like Hell's Kitchen when he is in the kitchen area. The owners where insane and I felt bad for the staff because they were treated so badly. It does look like to will be interesting and a learning curve for many.

That is what time it is now.I am in the family room because I cannot sleep as always. My schedule is all over the place and it is driving me crazy. I have to find things to do with myself and I am so so so so bored!

Hugoboss is laying on the floor next to me, fast asleep of course. Phoenix is sleeping on the sofa upstairs in the living room. A movie called Eragon is on and that was a good movie. I seen it a long time ago. 

My mind is racing with many thoughts but I cannot get them sorted to write down. I really hate when that happens. I hate having reader's block and of course that is when I do know how to write something good. I do not think that happens often?

I miss having someone to talk to, laugh with and just having someone who cares about me and what I feel and think. The price I have to pay, I know.Will this ever change? Will I ever be forgiven? Questions and there is never an answer!

Phoenix & My Siblings

Okay, so one of the things Phoenix is bad for is that he has nipped a few members of my family. The list is as follow but keep in mind that it really was not his fault.

My sister - the jacket she was wearing had food on it, so he thought she was share. He nipped her hand.

My brother - his tummy and foot got in the way when he was nipped and that was because he was teasing Phoenix, then showed fear.

My mother - her bum and elbow! I am not sure how the bum thing happened but the elbow was because she moved when giving him food, so he missed.

Myself - I was nipped in the arm when my mother went to give him a toy but teased him instead and I put my arm up and he got me. He felt bad about it.

So, you see it really is not his fault. He is getting very old and grey. He has very cute moments and lots of them. He is very playful and most people do not get to see that side of him. He loves Hugoboss and Cairo but will do without the other two cats. He is very happy that the girl cats are all gone, mostly Russia as she would give him the most beatings. Pretty funny to see.

Dumpings

One of the things I remember my grandmother teaching me was how to make dumpings for stews. It was one of the comfort foods that always made me feel better.

I shared a lot of time with her because we came here but I do not remember many things. I remember she called me toots a lot. My mother had her come here while my brother was born and I have more memories during that time. In the end she was bit a trouble maker and nuts. Who knew? I guess it was not a far cry afterall she was my mother's mother.

I try to only think of the better days with her and hold onto that.

Lovely fluffy soft dumplings are for adding to beef stews, as shown. You can add finely chopped parsley to the dry ingredients before mixing for a different style.

Dumplings for Stews Recipe

INGREDIENTS: 1½ cups all purpose flour (210gm) 3/4 tsp salt (4ml) 2 tsp baking powder (10ml) 1/4 cup margarine or butter (63gm) 3/4 cup milk (180ml)

METHOD: Combine flour, seasonings and baking powder in mixing bowl. Cut in the margarine or butter and then mix in the milk to make a soft dough. Separate into 5 - 6 pieces and place carefully into stew, or desired recipe. Continue to simmer the stew, covered for at least 25 minutes until dumplings have risen and are firm. Dumplings can be made toasty by placing pot containing stew and dumplings (ovenproof!) under broiler to finish.

Your Prom

Do you remember your prom night? That was something I did not get to do. He and I were busy with family and preparing for competition. He always said that we would have our own but that never happen, he was taken away before he could make the promise come true. 

I never minded that I did not get one but he would always talk about it. What flower he would pick out, what he would wear and what dress I would wear. What song would play for our first dance. So many things but all I cared about was that I was going to be with him.

He always made me happy and everything else in life did not measure up to him. I guess no one or nothing ever has. My life changed for the worse when he died. I was no longer innocent or good. Bad things would follow me everyday and every where. 

I hated all the promises that were made because the only thing I wanted was our life together, our family but there was no family, no life and it hurt more then anything else I have ever been through.

Science Project

Do you remember your science projects? When I did mean I did not want to do the same as everyone else. I thought the Volcano was boring. So, I went to the police station to do my project on Criminal Forensics.

They gave me a kit, showed me how to collect evidence like fingerprints.



I just remember being so interested in the whole process and I could not wait to start. I asked thousands of questions and I was able to watch how things were done. They showed me how to use everything and what steps to take. They gave me pretend cold cases to solve and I was so excited. 

I was shown how to take DNA from, hair supplies, under the nails and swabbing of the month. Along with blood patterns and other neat things. I could not wait to show my project off.

I put a lot together and had a blast presenting. Everyone thought I was so cool but I was so nervous and excited. I vomited three times before each presentation. I was far from cool.

This show is so unreal to watch and learn the truth of a crime. It is heart breaking and sad and for some realize you get a sense of peace for the who has died because the truth came to rest.

This move is making me very nervous. I am worrying about so many things and it is really making feel ill. Not really knowing what is going to happen with this house search, and money issues it is taking a huge toll on me. I hate not having any control over any of this.

House & Home Cabbage Rolls

Savoy cabbage is mild in flavour and doesn’t lose its colour or texture after being simmered. Serve up these succulent rolls during Hanukkah or as a warm, comforting winter dinner.

Yield:

4 servings

Ingredients:

1 head green Savoy cabbage, core removed
1/2 cup orzo (or any small-shaped pasta)
1 cup chopped mushrooms
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 tsp minced fresh garlic
8 oz. lean ground beef
3 tbsp barbecue sauce
2 tsp dried basil
1 egg
Pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes, with juice
3 tbsp packed brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/3 cup raisins (any variety)
3 tbsp chopped fresh basil or parsley

Instructions:

Step 1: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the whole cabbage for 20-25 minutes; drain. When it’s cool enough to handle, separate the leaves carefully. Set aside 8 leaves.
Step 2: Cook the orzo in a pot of boiling water for 8-10 minutes, until the pasta is tender but firm. Drain and rinse under cold running water. Drain again and set aside.
Step 3: Spray a non-stick skillet with cooking oil. Add the mushrooms, onion and garlic and cook over medium-high heat for 7 minutes, or until slightly browned. Transfer to a bowl. Add the orzo, ground beef, barbecue sauce, 1 tsp of the dried basil, egg, salt and pepper; mix well.
Step 4: Place about 1/3 cup of the beef-orzo mixture in the centre of a cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll it up. Repeat with the remaining filling.
Step 5: Combine the tomatoes and juice, brown sugar, remaining 1 tsp dried basil, water and lemon juice in a food processor; purée. Add the raisins, and pour the mixture into a large non-stick saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Step 6: Add the cabbage rolls and cook, covered, for 1 hour and 15 minutes, turning the rolls over at the halfway point through the cooking. Serve hot, garnished with the fresh basil.

The Birthday Girl looking all pretty in her little tool skirt. So happy and filled with so much laughter. It was so good to see her, peanut and ling ling. They are so sweet together and I miss being around them more. I wish that would change.

Another fun day but this time at the Zoo with some old friends and my godson. It was great to be involved. He had so much fun and it was a beautiful day for it. The animals are so cute, too. Milky
